last night i went and saw [016] funky forest: the first contact. part of the kibatsu cinema series showing at the cinemateque. it's part of the powel street festival which, this year, isn't on powel street. at two and a half freakin' hours, it's a loose collection of non sequiturs that are all tied together w/a sloppily and frayed knot.

in fact mosquitoes some time fly up in my face as if they are saying, in the haughty uptight frustrated whine mosquitoes are known for "i know you're full of blood! but this impenetrable magical witchery that surrounds you... one day this guard you keep up will be down. one day the treasure you hoard will be mine. one day i will reap this bounty. one day... your battle is far from won. fuck you."

there's nothing playing i want to spend money to see today.

so i'm home watching the remaining episodes of the night stalker. the episode is called chopper. which i always thought was a great nickname.

this episodes monster is
headless rider w/sword
a headless cycle rider w/a sword.

it also features
frank burns
major frank burns

and
thurston howl III
a doughy looking thurston howl the third. he tells a funny story about a japanese factory that made planes in the war and now makes motorcycles. he goes on to tell how, in the war, one of those planes dropped something that put him in the hospital. and gosh, isn't it ironic that now i'm selling bikes made by that same company.

hoohooho! good one thurston! a real knee slapper.

the episode of the night stalker i'm watching right now is about witches.

it features
Photobucket
evil mannequins

an unsuspecting cat
thrown cat
getting thrown on a model

and doc
doc from the love boat
from the love boat playing a doctor.

i really like this show. as a kid i watched it religiously and was routinely scared by it. not so much any more.

one of the vitamins or minerals i take makes me unappealing to mosquitoes.

i have the windows open and in the evening a few of them fly in, but never land on me. eventually they get bored and fly away.

is that all the b i take? or is it something else?

today while i was watching an episode of murphy's law an old lady, unannounced, walked in my apartment through my back door. i wasn't undressed, but due to the heat, i might have been. anyhow, she caught me off guard and i wasn't exactly mean to her, but i sure as fuck wasn't polite to her either. i bombarded her w/questions about why would she walk into some strangers apartment and told her she'd better get t' fuck out before i changed my mind about calling someone.

wtf! do i need to put one of those infant barriers up when i leave my patio door open to stop old people from barging in?

i'm sorry if i seem unsympathetic or mean and that was your grandma, but wtf! what if i'd been taking a shower or a nap and woke up to some stranger sitting on my couch.

next time: i yell and swear at them so the message gets taken back to the home base that the guy in 109 is loud, boorish and to be left alone.

*30*

Photobucket
this cap is from the closing credits of murphy's law. look, at the location manager's name. more like she's in charge of locating yummy frozen cakes.

i wish i worked there. mmmm, i like those frozen cakes.

i see her name has an 'h' at the end, but that's a common mistake.

some douching construction company started clearing land on the other side of the fence, less than 100 meters from my back door. almost all i hear is running motors and the beep beep beep of machines backing up.

shit. not only tearing down all the trees and growth but wrecking my view.

shit heads. like this city needs another construction site. if i was still able i'd sugar their gas tanks each and every night.

btw, this sequence from the previous episode, about a rogue robot
r.i.n.g.
r.i.n.g.
r.i.n.g.
r.i.n.g.
demonstrates how it was possible to have a hit tv show in the 70s, yet not spend any money on special effects.

i don't think anyone could get away w/that now.

now, i'm really going to bed.

jamie farr - worst actor ev
if jamie farr isn't the worst actor ever, he's certainly on the very short list that makes up that list of thespians who make you wonder how they got work in the first place. then, once they got work, how they kept getting it.

this is him, on the right, w/darren mcgavin, in an episode of the night stalker.

in this scene he plays a high school teacher explaining to kolchak the difference between man and ape. he takes a throw away scene, one that was probably inserted just for padding and turns it into an awkward moment w/a man who hates his job.

btw, the monster in this episode
Photobucket
is a guy in a monkey suit.

i'm going to bed, i really am no rock n' roll fun.

not only did i take a mulligan today, but, i found a barbershop downtown that doesn't charge between $25-$45 to preform a straight razor shave. so that was good. bonus too for it being easy for me to get the wheelchair in to. speaking of which, the second time i got out of bed i read the name brand of the chair it self. it's a, erm, quickie.

then after being home or a few hours, i went and saw [015] moon w/sam rockwell, who is a clone who meets his clone. he doesn't act well when he's acting w/himself, which he does for about 2/3 of the film. he does, however play filthy and grubby remarkably well.

kevin spacey is unremarkable as HAL.

what i really wanted to see was the girlfriend experience w/sasha grey, but it had already moved out of town. sil.
